Burning Man

Photos from Burning Man 2009. The art theme this year was "Evolution." I camped with friends at Ganesh camp -- we had a real Indian desert tent, and a regulation tennis court. Whoot!

Anthony with the Playa Zamboni

One of our camp's playa gifts this year was a full size regulation tennis court. However, when we arrived our "court" had been torn up by the crossings of many trucks. We recreated a hard flat playa surface by repeatedly driving around with our Playa Zamboni.

The Playa Zamboni did a great job of grading and packing down the court surface. However, at the court boundaries the Zamboni had to do three point turns, and Anthony had to pick up the huge 4x4's and follow the car around. Again and again and again. Quite an effort by Anthony but it was worth it. I worked hard too; I drove the Zamboni and cranked tunes.

Since we were building a regulation court we took care to get the dimensions right.

It was the playa tennis "Court of Ganesh" and the end nets featured Ganesh imagery.

The receding dust storm caught and reflected the beautiful colors of sunset on the high Nevada desert.

Ali Opens the Bar

Ganesh Camp provided a respite from the desert dust and heat in an enormous Indian desert tent. To help our guests overcome the obstacles of desert living, we provided a full bar, sound system and tent misters. Everyone loved the Ganesh tent.
