Crown Fires in Goat Gulch

By 6 PM, crown fires were burning throughout Goat Gulch.

Goat Creek Canopy Fire

By 7PM, high winds were fanning huge flames and engulfing the cliffs above Goat Creek and Rock Creek valley. Entire stands of trees were on fire. The fire roared in the wind, and could be heard a mile away.

Helicopter Bucket Drop

The helicopter crews fought a good fight, but the fire had become too large. It was out of control.
