Wildcat Recon

The road down into the Tuolumne canyon to Lumsden bridge washed out in 2005, and recently reopened. Christian and I made an overnight camping excursion to check out the condition of the road and the Lumsden Bridge campground.

Lumsden Bridge campground is where a group of friends meet almost every year for a car camping extravaganza called Wildcat. We wanted to check out the road and campground after the closure of the last few years; if things looked good then Wildcat 2010 would be on!

The Tuolumne river flows out of Yosemite nine miles east of Lumsden Bridge. This photo was taken about 2.5 miles west of the bridge. The mountains of Yosemite can be seen in the far background.
