Butano

President's Day was beautiful along the Bay Area coast, and lucky me I had the day off. I headed down to Butano for some late afternoon hiking. I didn't bring a tripod since I was making tracks, but on a few shots it would have helped -- redwood forests can be dark even on sunny days.

Everything was green!

These giants were probably part of the same fairy circle, and grew together over time.

View from Gazos trail

On the way back I took Gazos trail, which adds some extra elevation but the views are worth it on the way down. The foothills along the coast are so green at this time of year.

Cliffs of Insanity

On the drive back, some of the cliffs along the way are huge. I've nicknamed these the Cliffs of Insanity.
